Credo: The effort to reinvent the Roman Catholic Church
I pre-ordered and read Credo: Compendium of the Catholic Faith by Bishop Athanasius Schneider. One cannot help but applaud his motives. Yet, ultimately the new Catechism holds all the cognitive dissonance of the so-called Catholic Traditional Movement, which is burdened with the legacy of Vatican I and Vatican II that destroyed the last vestiges of Orthodoxy in Roman Catholicism. On the back of Bishop Athanasius' work, a small remnant of Roman Catholics will try to reinvent the Roman Catholic Church from the ashes of the Synod on Synodality.
