Heiser Heresy from an Evangelical'sPerspective
(WORK IN PROGRESS) First an Orthodox glimpse of Heiser: Any Orthodox critiques of Michael Heiser? I'm looking for Orthodox critiques on the book The Unseen Realm by Michael Heiser. None of what he says is incompatible with Orthodoxy, and I know of at least one Orthodox person that supports his ideas. (BR Note: This is a well meaning Orthodox person writing, but as we will quickly see this statement is false.) Heiser seems to be a good example of how we could know more about the Old Testament today than the Church Fathers knew. For example, the dead sea scrolls, (BR Note: this is anachronistic speak, since the material of the Dead Sea Scrolls were in common circulation in the New Testament era.) better understanding of ancient Hebrew, better understanding of the ancient near east (though this isn't strictly necessary).
