Bill Copeland Music Critic and Modern Marcionite Heretic

The world's most dangerous philosopher and the world's most dangerous philosophy. What is so dangerous about Alexsandr Dugin's ideas that they would try to kill him (slaughtering his daughter)? Why? What is so deadly?

Note that Bill Copeland hasn't bothered to watch the video, just read the paragraph introducing it, and like all shallow people of the feckless middle thinks he understands the content.  What is expose on the part of Copeland is an abysmal level of ignorance wrapped in a sea of pride.  Pride is the sin against the Holy Spirit, a resin impervious to Grace.  What Copeland offers is the "nice hippy Jesus" infamous of Village Voice fame.

That article in the Village Voice in the 1960s was followed by the song "Jesus was a Capricorn" by Kris
Kristofferson.

Jesus was a Capricorn
He ate organic food
He believed in love and peace
And never wore no shoes

Long hair, beard and sandles
And a funky bunch of friends
Reckon we'd just nail him up
If he came down again

[Chorus:]
'Cause everybody's gotta have somebody to look down on
Prove they can be better than at any time they choose
Someone doin' somethin' dirty decent folks can frown on
If you can't find nobody else, then help yourself to me

Eggheads fussin' rednecks cussin'
Hippies for their hair
Others laugh at straights who laugh at
Freaks who laugh at squares

Some folks hate the Whites
Who hate the Blacks who hate the Klan
Most of us hate anything that
We don't understand

Thus was born the hippy Jesus that our friend the Boston Music critic believes in.

Bill Copeland
I think Jesus would have been considered liberal. He advocated giving onto the Caeser (the government) what is Caeser's. He multiplied the fish to provide a free meal for all. He was a working class carpenter who worked with 12 fishermen. He offered acceptance to Mary Magalene and practically created the platonic relationship. He practiced pacifist beliefs to quell conflict. He was abhorred by those who turned the temple into a market place. He accepted all kinds of people, even tax collectors, Roman soldiers, thieves, and prostitutes. I think liberalism might have been born out of true Christianity.

Bill Copeland You speak abysmal ignorance based on, God only knows, what influences your understanding of who Jesus was and is. The accusation that Jesus was a pacifist shows that your consciousness was created by the enlightenment movement, not the scriptures. Jesus wasn't the hippy guru you picture, and his actions upon earth were only part of the battle in which he was engaged AS he walked the earth. In your picturing of the pansy Jesus, there is no place for a whip in his hand, and he could not possibly have told his disciples to buy a sword, even if they had to sell their cloak to do so. Neither could he have said, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." You make the claim that you know what "true Christianity is" yet paint God as a Pascifist. Or maybe you don't understand that Jesus WAS, God, and there isn't a hint of pacifism about God. Your ego has created your Jesus, not scripture or history.

Archpriest Symeon Elias thank you I don't have the knowledge to put into words how insulting the concert tee shirt Jesus crowd is trying to use false teaching to make points in arguments my friend,, Billy claims to be an enlightened moderate reasonable Democrat , but calling people who defend Christian tradition culture family uneducated. Is anything but that ,Bill is a regional music critic and does a good job of that always good to my shows and cds with positive reviews but I believe he is a secularists or possible atheist

Archpriest Symeon Elias
He also thinks he is original, and the first time I heard his insipid proposition was in the sixties in the "Village Voice." I Hope his musical insight is better than his theology and history.

Winston Smith
Archpriest Symeon Elias I would love him to listen to your waltz at the end it has become more then just melody

Bill Copeland
Archpriest Symeon Elias You describe yourself in the first paragraph.

The sword was a metaphor. Look up what that word means.

Turn the other cheek was pretty pacifist.

God in the Old Testament was written as a vengeful God to make a point about how punishment, reward, destiny is fulfilled by one's own choices.

Secularism is a good thing, In the secular world, people can choose who and what to worship.

Winston Smith
Bill Copeland Billy sometimes a smart man shuts up and listens

Winston Smith
Bill Copeland not so Billy you are not even close

John Rolf
Copeland is coping

Archpriest Symeon Elias
Like a fish living in a sea of lies, having been yanked to the shore, he flaps about in desperation to find the security of his lies.

I would suggest to our dear flailing fish friend that he read "GOD is a man of WAR - the problems of violence in the Old Testament" by Stephen De Young, which destroys every argument our aging hippy friend can mount. His understanding is Marcion Heresy, and he is too ignorant to understand that. Remember Marcion was denounced by the early church fathers, including Saint Justin Martyr, Saint Irenaeus (whose books "Against the Heresies cover every known heresy), Saint Clement of Alexandria, and even Origen, and Tertullian, who had their own problems, knew that Marcion was a heretic and an idiot.
