The Sweet Seductive Sounds of Luciferian Philosophy vs Truth
Thoreau is another one of those characters who tried to reinvent the "religious wheel," styling it as poetry and philosophy and not theology, but his words always had theological implications. He did this, like so many in the so-called "enlightenment," UNenlightened of the teachings of Orthodoxy or purposely ignoring them; so in his writings are many things that have a familiar ring to the Orthodox Mindset, yet in the end, he offers nothing more than a single ego's ramblings. One has to ask of Thoreau, though his words were often contextually beautiful, what theological foundation did they hold? And the answer is:
his own ego.
When he speaks about truth, like all of the enlightenment writers, one has to ask "what truth" because their versions of truth are without foundation, or better have multiple foundations of fantasies parading as truth.

As a young teen, I found him exciting and he affirmed my anarchist tendencies; until I read Ayn Rand.
So long as people think and behave like children and adolescents, paganism/pantheism will be quite attractive.

Rex Christi ah, Ayn Rand. I was gifted Atlas Shrugged in High School. Still have it.

it is a fun read for an adolescent, but it is shy of substance and decent prose for an adult.
John Parziale
I
knew maybe 10% of the story and poetry of Thoreau. Seems I had written
some similar to him and also Dali according to a woman who dated the
latter. “I don’t do drugs.. I make my own within”
And with the former:
“We need to simplify our lives”
But I’ve found my early quotes later in maybe two dozen famous mouths over the years afterwards.
And even if the famous person was deeply flawed.. it was some of their best ideas nonetheless.

Parziale, I deleted your invitation to debate because your constant
suggestion and assumption that "we" share the same path and experience
is more than fantasy. Any debate inside that fantasy is, from its base, a
lie. I will comment for your sake that the so-called classic argument
you suggested is an error of antiquity over truth. Something of
antiquity is not held because it is old; it is maintained because it is
true. The opposite is something contemporary is not valued because it is
trendy but because it is true. It is a failure to grasp the nature of
truth that is immutable.
Truth
is the commonality, not age. Your assumption is based on evolutionary
assumptions and not revelatory history. Your question is, indeed, common
in the world based on evolutionary thinking created by the
enlightenment.
As
for Thoreau, his presuppositions were, as I stated, from the
enlightenment movement, which is at its core Luciferian. From a base of
"enlightenment," one may muck about and say many words (you have been
gifted this way) and never state more than temporary and contextual
truth. And BTW, it wouldn't matter in which age Thoreau spoke since, in
reality, Thoreau was a gnostic retread in poetry, as are most of the
poets and philosophers of the Enlightenment.
Those
who do not openly espouse Luciferianism create the "middle way" of
Gnosticism and "enlightened spiritualities," most based on false
concepts of "love" and all ultimately having the same Luciferian core.

John has a knack for illustrating my arguments while misunderstanding them.

One cannot fully embrace both Christianity and Objectivism.
"Conservative Christians who embrace [Rand] as the "enemy-of-my-enemy"
seem to forget that she considered us the enemy. " She was the
quintessential High Priestess of Illuminati propaganda, backed by
Rothschild money, rumored to pay for their backing via sexual submission
to Phillip Rothschild (then patriarch of the Rothschild family) when he
reposed she kept a string of young lovers. Her job was to turn
Conservatives "inhuman," getting them to abandon Christian
Humanitarianism, as expressed by Jesus, Saint Paul, and Isaiah - feed
the hungry, clothe the naked, etc. Ryan convinced Conservatives these
were "socialist/Marxist" ideas.
At
the same time, the Marxist-Humanists took control and produced
"inhuman" humanistic welfare that destroyed everything it touched. The
point was to remove Christianity and Christian Morality from "charity."
Now, charity has become Satanic - the NGOs a means of genocide and
slavery.
Ayn
Rand's work, more than anything else, robbed the heterodox Christians
in the U.S. of their humanitarianism - and the complete implosion and
subversion of Catholic Charities is the major proof of this, and the
conquest of the Protestant Missions boards by the CIA is the second.
